Description of the Work Sharp Guided Field 4” Coarse Diamond Plate (220):
The abrasive plate from the Work Sharp brand is a replacement component for the Work Sharp Guided Field Sharpener (WSGFS221) handheld sharpener, serving as a counterpart to the plate mounted on the sharpening device.
The diamond-coated surface is resistant to damage and offers long-lasting durability, maintaining its efficiency for at least 75 sharpening cycles. The key feature is the high-quality finish provided by the uniformity of the abrasive grains, achieved through patented manufacturing technology.
The coarse diamond abrasive with a grit size of 220 is designed for the initial stage of blade sharpening, during which the heavily dulled or damaged cutting edge is shaped and restored. To bring the blade to razor-sharpness, after using the coarse plate, it is recommended to sharpen the blade on a fine-grit plate and polish it with a leather strop.
The plate measures 100 x 24 mm. It easily attaches to the design of the original sharpener and requires no additional adjustments before use.
