CPM S30V is a powder steel that was developed in collaboration with knife maker Chris Reeve. It is one of the strongest and most durable steels available on the market and is a popular choice for the production of high quality knives and other cutting tools.

Composition of CPM S30V steel:
Carbon (C): 1,45%
Chromium (Cr): 14%
Vanadium (V): 4%
Molybdenum (Mo): 2%
Cobalt (Co): 1%
Nitrogen (N): 0,5%

These elements are added to steel to improve its mechanical properties such as strength, corrosion and wear resistance, and to improve its sharpening ability and durability.

CPM S30V steel typically has a Rockwell hardness range of 58 to 62. This is a fairly high hardness, making CPM S30V one of the strongest and most durable knife steels on the market.
